Terracon’s Facilities team is growing! Our Facilities Consulting Division is searching for a Senior Operations Leader for our Facilities/Building Performance Consulting practice in the San Antonio/South Texas market to service existing clients and expand our market presence in the region. In this role you will demonstrate your particular subject matter expertise within one or more of our sectors of focus – Building Enclosure, Structural Diagnostics, Facility Asset Management or MEP/Energy. This role will benefit from the existing Terracon services and presence in the national market, thereby providing immediate connectivity and support opportunities.

The selected candidate will bring and utilize their market awareness and technical knowledge to respond to existing client needs, pursue new opportunities to close and build a local team of professionals delivering the responsive service that Terracon provides. A background in buildings/systems through degree and practice – engineering, architecture, system specialization or construction is needed, and registration/certification is required.

Additional background in staff development, people leadership and administration are key attributes.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to oversee the regional Facilities Building Performance practice for the region
  • Represent Terracon in their area of specialization to the marketplace as well as becoming an internal resource and subject matter expert.
  • Directs the short-range business development activities of all department personnel to ensure that adequate fees are available to support the manpower on the payroll.
  • Working with regional HR team members and local office resources, plan and execute the recruitment, selection, training, mentoring, and development of all employees in the group.
  • Responsibility to execute the regions Facilities Building Performance business plan.
  • Oversee and manage the success of the key department metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
  • Through internal training develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Working with regional and local safety coordinators, lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Architecture, Facilities or Construction related field
  • 10 or more years’ practice experience
  • Professional Registration in Engineering or Architecture required
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Achieve Authorized Project Reviewer (APR) designation for subject matter expertise within 24 months of hire
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

Preferred Certification:
  • Certification or licensure in field of expertise
  • Master’s degree
