Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Oversee inspection and testing on large, complex and diverse transportation projects requiring expertise and knowledge in multiple areas of construction inspection and oversee the work of other testing and inspection personnel, including various scope leaders. Coordinate quality through proactive communications with the Owner and Contractor.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures to determine if work is done according to contract specifications.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Develop material certification and testing tracking procedures and plans.
  • Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
  • Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the client
  • Communicates information to National Manager and other personnel as directed by the National Manager.
  • Will interact with client and other site personnel to provide input on appropriate resolution of findings.
  • Will lead development of scope for testing and inspection services
  • Oversee dispatch activities.
  • Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
  • Lead, provide direction and may coordinate activities of lower level inspectors.
  • Directs and teaches advanced fieldwork to project staff.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field and a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with ability to acquire in numerous jurisdictions
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Experience with Alternate Delivery Construction projects.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This position has been categorized as a "Remote Only" position. “Remote Only” employees do not have a designated workspace at an office, and typically work from home or another location.

The national standard salary range for this position is $111,400-$172,700. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
