- Set up and maintain projects in the project accounting system, ensuring all required project and contract information is accurate and complete.
- Verify that contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and notices to proceed are fully executed and properly organized within electronic project files.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and ongoing project reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Billing Support, Government Compliance, and project teams to support client invoicing, collections, accounts payable coding, timesheet reviews, and expense report reviews.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships to facilitate timely project documentation, invoicing, collections, and healthy project cash flow.
- Oversee subcontractor billing approvals and monitor subcontract compliance requirements.
- Support Project Managers with Estimate-to-Complete (ETC) reporting, earned value analysis, and other project performance metrics to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reporting.
- Review project financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues. Make corrections, as directed by the Project Manager, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Communicate project financial performance, unapproved work, and potential risks to the Project Manager and Director of Operational Finance.
- Prepare financial analyses and supporting documentation for project review meetings with key stakeholders, including Project Executives, Division Managers, Office Managers, Project Managers, and the Director of Operational Finance.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Participate in pre-task planning and promptly report safety concerns or incidents to management.
- Maintain established quality standards and contribute to the successful execution of all projects.
- Experience in construction project accounting is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with 4-6 years of relevant professional experience; or, in lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of experience in project accounting or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall computer applications.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and leadership at various levels of the organization.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record may be required.
