Job Description
Terracon has an exciting new Intern position for the summer of 2026 supporting the Mergers & Acquisitions and Terracon Foundation Department at our Corporate office in Olathe, KS.
Terracon is an engineering consulting firm that performs numerous services including geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and observation, environmental services, and facilities engineering. In this paid internship role, you will actively participate in a fun, fast-paced, working environment, while contributing in meaningful ways. You’ll acquire exposure to the M&A profession via support of project manager, director, and additional corporate and operational partners. The position will spend a substantial portion of their time working with the M&A / Terracon Foundation project managers.
Some of the tasks performed as an M&A and Terracon Foundation Intern will include:
- Assist with due diligence processing and review
- Perform tasks in M&A software (data entry and management, report creation, etc.)
- Maintain and review project calendars and schedule integration related tasks
- Review project data for completeness and accuracy
- Interact with executives during potential acquisition review meetings
- Perform tasks in Terracon Foundation portal (run reports, make grant requests, etc.)
- Attend weekly integration meetings for various acquisitions and execute tasks
- Develop and lead a project plan with key stakeholders
- Other tasks as assigned
In addition to gaining experience in the areas above the individual will work on a “master project” that spans the full internship. The “master project” will require interactions with colleagues throughout the company to fully understand details associated with the project and collect the data needed to present recommendations at the end of the internship.
Based on the intern’s performance during the internship, there is potential for a full-time job offer upon graduation or shortly thereafter.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration degree in any related field (preferably a Junior, Senior, or Master student)
- Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
- Moderate to strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
