Job Description
Terracon is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our National EHS Services Team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to manage teams responsible for the execution of programmatic environmental compliance services within our National EHS Services Team.
Some of the compliance skills that may be needed for this role include:
• Air permitting (Title V and minor source)
• Stormwater/SWPPP
• RCRA/Hazardous waste
• Compliance auditing
• Oil Storage/SPCC plans
• SARA Title III (Tier II/TRI) reporting
• Industrial wastewater/NPDES
• Sustainability/ESG
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients through effective communication, responsiveness, and trust. You will also need to provide direction and lead efforts to standardize policies, practices and procedures among team members to provide programmatic environmental compliance services. You will also mentor and monitor the performance of teams and facilitate training, site visits, quality audits and safety incident investigation. You may also participate in marketing activities and the recruitment of new team members.
You will need to be confident and possess a strong technical background with proven leadership skills. You will manage projects, prepare reports and other deliverables, and review documents prepared by others for accuracy, completeness, and quality following company and client standards. You will also develop client relationships and train, mentor, and direct staff on projects.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Execute the initiatives of the National EHS Services Team.
• Oversee and ensure consistent operations and practices of teams by executing programmatic work for national clients.
• Monitor the performance of program teams through site visits, safety incident investigation, quality audits and metrics.
• Provide leadership and direction on practices and workforce/equipment utilization to local management.
• Partner with operations outside the National EHS Services team to develop and deliver coordinated and consistent services across all regions.
• Monitor safety, quality, and production of national teams and provide recommendations.
• Assist local offices with marketing activities related to the business segment including pricing and planning.
• Participate and provide input in the recruitment, interview and selection process for National EHS Services team members.
• Manage risk related to projects. Ensure contracts are signed and fully executed prior to commencing work. Monitor adherence to corporate risk policies and practices. Hold Managers accountable for mitigating or eliminating risk.
• Communicate safety initiatives, rules and guidelines to staff.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience
• Proven ability to engage and lead a team of technical staff and mentor their growth,
Experience managing large environmental compliance focused programs
• Demonstrated high level of technical writing ability,
• Excellent analytical and communication skills,
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word,
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work and possess a positive attitude,
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
Preferred Certification:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-Hr refresher preferred.
