General Responsibilities:
Are you an experienced construction or facilities professional looking to pivot into a consulting role? Terracon’s Facilities Service Line is growing, and we’re seeking a Field Facilities Professional to join our team in Cincinnati. This position is ideal for individuals with 5–9 years of hands‑on construction or facilities experience who want to leverage their field expertise in a client‑facing, diagnostic, and problem‑solving consulting environment. Prior consulting experience is welcome but not required—we’ll help you build those skills.As a Field Facilities Professional, you’ll support assessment, consulting, testing, and evaluation services for a wide variety of facility types and building systems. Your responsibilities will include both field and office work, such as:
Field & Technical Responsibilities
- Conducting field observations, diagnostics, and performance testing of building systems
- Documenting deficiencies, system performance, and construction quality
- Collecting and interpreting field or lab data related to building enclosure, structural, mechanical, and other facility systems
- Assisting with root‑cause analysis of building performance issues
- Preparing clear, concise technical reports and recommendations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for quality and compliance
- Supporting the development of project estimates, proposals, scopes, and schedules
- Communicating findings and explaining technical concepts to clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Helping resolve construction and operational challenges for clients

- 5–9 years of experience in construction, facilities management, building operations, or related field
- Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, and field problem-solving
- Solid communication and technical writing skills
- Interest in consulting, facility assessments, and building performance evaluation
- Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating in a team environment
- Comfort with both field and office-based work
- Willingness to travel regionally within the Eastern Midwest (OH, KY, IN, WV, MI, Western PA)
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required—equivalent field experience is highly valued
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history us required.

About the Team
From general practitioners to specialists, our national Facilities professionals know facility systems from curb to rooftop. As a member of our team, you’ll join licensed architects and engineers delivering services for new construction and existing facilities including building enclosure consulting and testing, facility asset management, due diligence, ADA and accessibility consulting, facility condition assessments, and more. Be it one parking lot or a 100-building portfolio, we create sustainable options for our clients’ buildings, assess and extend service life where applicable, increase performance, and help them maximize the value of their capital expenditures.
