Are you looking to launch your engineering career with hands‑on field experience and meaningful project work? Terracon’s Facilities Service Line is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated Field Engineeror Architect to join our Building Enclosure team in Cincinnati.This is a great opportunity for new graduates or early‑career professionals who want to build technical skills, work alongside industry experts, and support a wide variety of client projects. Experience in building enclosures or building science is helpful — but not required. We’re ready to train the right person.
As a Field Engineer/Architect, you’ll support consulting, testing, and diagnostic services for building enclosure systems across multiple markets. Your work will include a blend of field and office responsibilities, such as:
- Conducting field investigations, observations, and inspections
- Assisting with engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
- Supporting the preparation and review of technical reports
- Reviewing construction documents for compliance with plans and specifications
- Helping develop project proposals, cost estimates, and tracking project budgets
- Researching and resolving design and construction challenges
- Reviewing and evaluating field or lab data
- Communicating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Hands‑on experience with meaningful responsibility
Strong mentorship from established building enclosure professionals
Exposure to a wide variety of building types and project scopes

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture (or related field) — new grads encouraged to apply
- Interest in building science or building enclosure systems
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Curiosity, problem‑solving mindset, and willingness to learn
- Comfort with both field and office work
- Ability to travel regionally within the Eastern Midwest (OH, KY, IN, WV, MI, Western PA)
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

As a member of our team, you’ll join licensed architects and engineers delivering services for new construction and existing facilities including building enclosure consulting and testing, facility asset management, due diligence, ADA and accessibility consulting, facility condition assessments, and more. Be it one parking lot or a 100-building portfolio, we create sustainable options for our clients’ buildings, assess and extend service life where applicable, increase performance, and help them maximize the value of their capital expenditures.
