- Demonstrate a proven track record of winning and expanding private development projects in the Phoenix market and surrounding areas.
- Build and nurture relationships with private development clients to drive portfolio growth and secure new opportunities.
- Identify potential private sector clients in need of landscape architecture consulting expertise and actively market the firm's services to them.
- Participate in the development and execution of marketing strategies, including formal presentations of qualifications to private development clients.
- Deliver high-quality project and proposal outcomes that consistently meet or exceed client expectations and support business growth.
- Continuously monitor and improve project quality standards and practices, engaging approved project reviewers from project initiation.
- Develop a deep understanding of project-related risks specific to private development and apply company risk policies to safeguard projects.
- Provide leadership and direction in the application of advanced landscape architectural concepts for private development projects.
- Plan, organize, and supervise design activities for major private development projects, ensuring creative and innovative solutions that address unique challenges and address local trends in design, landscape architecture and planning.
- Promote a state-of-the-art approach within the landscape architectural discipline, positioning the firm a strategic partner with clients in achieving the project goals and expectations.
- Publish technical articles and present papers or seminars to technical groups, enhancing the company's reputation and visibility in the private development sector.
- Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring compliance with safety rules and guidelines while modeling best practices for private development projects.
- Provide support for creative review, production, and delivery of graphics, strategies, construction documents, and specifications, guiding clients from concept to final permit and construction observation.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university
- Minimum 12-15+ years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA), ideally in Arizona
- Operating Group Manager and Service Line Director approval required.
- Strong portfolio spanning public, private, and mixed-use development
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status or recognized as a specialized technical subject matter expert (SME).
- Deep knowledge of Sonoran Desert design principles, water-wise strategies, and regional regulatory frameworks
