Job Description
General Responsibilities
As a Field Landscape Designer, you will provide comprehensive landscape architectural and consulting services across a wide variety of projects and clients. Your responsibilities will encompass designing and developing detailed plans and specifications, conducting thorough site analyses, and creating tailored site-specific designs. You will also perform calculations, prepare and review technical reports, and ensure that construction activities align with approved plans and specifications. Additionally, you will be involved in preparing service proposals, monitoring project progress and budgets, and recommending adjustments as needed. A key part of the role includes researching and resolving design and construction challenges while applying sound landscape architectural principles. Effective communication of complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential. Projects may span diverse sectors including commercial, retail, multi-family, hospitality, senior living, industrial, and governmental developments.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and standards for each project.
- Participate in pre-task planning and promptly report any safety concerns to management.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality and support consistent standards across all assignments and deliverables.
- Engage in assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and skills in landscape architecture.
- Assist with research, data collection, field observations, and site inspections, followed by the preparation of field reports in coordination with supervisors and team members.
- Collaborate with technical staff and supervisors on routine and moderately complex projects.
- Perform basic calculations and analyses as required.
- Draft plans using CAD software under the supervision of a Registered Landscape Architect.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
