Diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from property condition assessments to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials. Assessment techniques include, visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations. Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.
Senior level Facilities professional providing technical direction required for the production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the Facilities work on a project of moderate scope.
Provide consultation and commentary on compliance of observed deficiencies, proposed building modifications and building repairs in relation to codes of authorities having jurisdiction.
Maintain interest and engagement in municipal code development, existing and emerging compliance and inspection requirements in multiple local markets.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects under candidate’s management.
Provides leadership, technical direction/expertise, and training to all staff under direction while performing on client projects.
Active in local/regional technical and business organizations.
Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Participates in the development of marketing strategies and formal presentations of qualifications to clients on various projects in area of expertise.
Identifies potential clients in need of consulting expertise and participates in selling the services of the company to those clients.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in building science or related building field and 10+ years’ experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
Demonstration of professional competence in the assessment and repair design of building facades. Candidate should have advanced knowledge and experience in maintaining exteriors in transitional frame architecture, masonry mass wall architecture, concrete/steel frame and veneer walls architecture with punched openings and curtainwall assemblies.
Ideal candidate shall have professional competence and experience in low slope roofing selection and maintenance design.
Master’s degree preferred.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certifications:Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in one or more of mid-Atlantic states. (MD, NJ, PA, NY, CT or MA)
