As a Senior Facilities Professional, you will play a crucial role in our Building Envelope Consulting team, utilizing your expertise to diagnose and prevent failures in various building envelope systems. Your primary focus will be on forensic investigations, where you'll determine the root causes of leaks and structural degradation in waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and glazing systems. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with architects and General Contractors to review construction documents, ensuring that envelope details comply with code requirements and manufacturer specifications. Your responsibilities will also extend to conducting on-site diagnostic tests and observing work in progress to maintain the highest standards of quality assurance.
- Lead forensic investigations to diagnose failures in building envelope systems, including waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and glazing.
- Review construction documents and collaborate with architects to ensure compliance with code requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct on-site diagnostic testing, such as water spray tests and air barrier assessments, to evaluate the performance of building envelope systems.
- Observe work in progress and provide quality assurance to ensure proper installation and adherence to industry standards.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations based on forensic investigations, offering solutions to prevent future failures.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in building envelope consulting.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical expertise and support to enhance their skills.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations, to secure new projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in building envelope consulting.
- Knowledge of building envelope systems, including waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and glazing technologies.
- Proficiency in forensic investigation techniques and the ability to diagnose and solve building envelope failures.
- Experience in reviewing construction documents and ensuring compliance with building codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Strong field testing skills, including water spray tests, air barrier assessments, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for building envelope analysis and documentation.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Professional certifications or licenses in building envelope consulting or related fields are preferred.
