Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Drill Rig Mechanic to support our drilling operations. This role is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy drilling equipment, support vehicles, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components to ensure safe, efficient field operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on drill rigs, support trucks, hydraulic systems, compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate service records.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues in the field or shop.
- Assist field crews by responding to breakdowns and providing onsite repair support.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; communicate needs to supervisors.
- Ensure all equipment meets Terracon’s safety and performance standards.
- Support shop organization, cleanliness, and compliance with all safety protocols.
- Travel may be required for field repairs.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience maintaining or repairing heavy equipment, diesel engines, or drilling equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability across electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling methods.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within first 30 days of employment.
Preferred:
- Experience with drill rigs (track rigs, rotary, auger, CPT rigs)
- CDL Class A or B or willingness to obtain
- Welding or fabrication experience
- OSHA‑10, MSHA, or HAZWOPER certifications
