Role Description:
This is a bold opportunity for a driven, self-motivated professional to take their career to the next level! Join one of the largest engineering consulting firms in the country and help us continue our growth in Minnesota (Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Rochester offices). The successful candidate will utilize their expertise and knowledge supporting Environmental, Facilities, Geotechnical, and Material Testing pursuits while growing our client base. You will report directly to the North Central Division Client Development Leader and actively participate as a key member of the energetic Client Development Team.
You will actively search for new business opportunities in the Minnesota market for Terracon’s engineering consulting offices. You will coordinate with market sectors to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and grow our business. You will focus on client relationships with firms who work in various market sectors, including: Transportation & Infrastructure, Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial & Logistics, Power Generation & Transmission, Digital Infrastructure, and Federal/State/Local. You will utilize your contacts in appropriate professional organizations to network with clients and develop intelligence regarding the firm’s competition. In addition, you will use your network to develop leads and provide new projects from past, existing, and future clients. Finally, you will work in conjunction with other Client Development Professionals and Marketing Leaders for various client submittals.
Terracon anticipates the starting salary range for this job opportunity will be from $91,500 to $115,000. Additional details on the salary range for this job class at Terracon can be found further below in this posting.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for using his/her personal contacts to develop long-term client relationships.
  • Spends time outside the office in direct contact with clients and prospects.
  • Schedules meetings with existing and potential clients and bring along staff to augment the client experience.
  • Leads weekly Business Development meetings with the operations team.
  • Leverages new and existing relationships in appropriate professional organizations and in the industry to drive growth.
  • Reports to Leader of Client Development activities, pursuits, and proposals influenced.
  • Helps develop and track major pursuits/proposals with local operations team.
  • Collaborates with others in corporate roles (National Account Managers, Sectors, Marketing).
  • Assists with organization and execution of professional trade shows.
  • Utilizes the available business intelligence tools (CRM) to seek the best client experience.
  • Assists with annual budgeting, growth projects, client feedback, and other internal business development activities.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience. Or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of nine years related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
** Local travel will be required driving to clients and projects sites in Minnesota.

The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Minimum $91500 - Maximum $141900
