General Responsibilities:
To source spend categories that are common to all Terracon offices. Including but not limited to travel and expense, facilities support, drilling services and supplies, rental equipment, environmental services, IT hardware and software, and laboratory equipment and field supplies. This position will also support category management by assisting or leading supplier business reviews, seeking opportunities for strategic supplier partnerships, and negotiating/managing national agreements. Reduce the supplier base, compress spend, manage spend fragmentation and provide spend oversight by tracking and validating our supplier performance with KPIs.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Sourcing
Work as a team leader or team member on:

- analyze and mitigate risk
- qualitative and quantitative RF(X) review
- Develop, maintain and sustain supplier relationships.
- Arrange performance reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate supplier performance based on agreed KPIs.
- Create action plans to address issues and exploit opportunities.
- Perform analysis of supplier spend data and process metrics to proactively recommend improvements.
- Work with and across stakeholder groups to define needs and aggregate wherever possible.
- Act as liaison between the stakeholder and the supplier to determine an optimal approach to meeting validated business requirements and technology solutions.
- Provide input to stakeholders on budget development based on market/supplier pricing and forecasting.
- Provide education and guidance to stakeholders regarding value of adopting and complying with purchasing policies, procedures, tools, and processes.
- Contract performance and sustainability.
- Supplier Scorecards / KPIs.
- Manage contract lifecycle by ensuring contract close-out, extension, or renewal.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ strategic sourcing experience (including but not limited to category management within general sourcing categories). Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years’ related experience.
- Knowledge of general category management and supply markets.
- Intermediate or above experience with MicroSoft Office - Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong proficiency in Excel with the ability to create pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, slicer, charts/graphs, filters, etc.
- Basic knowledge of software and licensing contract terminology.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge and practice of sourcing principles and processes.
- Familiarity with data visualization tool, Power BI preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills to present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or other supply chain management.
