The Safety Security Professional is an initial point of contact for visitors to a Terracon office, primary resource for security services, and responsible for maintaining a safe and secure building environment.
Leadership and Strategy
•Provide courteous and responsive reception services to employee-owners and building visitors.
•Serve as a partner for all Terracon operations for security related questions and advice.
Customized Solutions
•Monitor security systems (video camera monitoring) throughout the day to ensure building and property security.
•Maintain employee list and badge access in system and assign badges to new employees.
•Administer visitor badging services for all visitors, vendors, and contractors.
•Facilitate site orientation and safety expectation training for contractors performing work in the building or on the property.
•Conduct building and property security and safety inspections.
•Coordinate with police, fire, medical, and other first responders responding to incidents on company property.
•Assist Safety Team with security related support e.g., finding and working with contractors for high-risk termination.
•Partner with the Safety Team on security-related incident investigations.
•Review and update emergency action plans.
•Identify high-stress or crisis situations involving employees, vendors, and visitors and utilize de-escalation techniques to achieve resolution.
•Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee, visitor, security, and incident-related information.
Client Partnership
•Support high-risk terminations by participating in or remaining available during the process.
•Serve as a point of contact for employees reporting building maintenance issues or security concerns.
•Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
•Maintain quality standards on all projects.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
• Associate’s degree or certification in Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
• This role demands excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of security standards, excellent physical presence, and the ability to de-escalate security related situations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Preferred Certification:
• Certification or experience with less-lethal options including but not limited to empty hand control, pepper spray, straight baton, or Conducted Energy Device (CED / commonly knowns as a Taser).
Required Certification:
• Concealed Carry Firearms Permit relevant to local laws e.g., 18 USC 926C9D)(2) and any local licenses, permits, or certifications that may be required for security services or firearms.
• American Red Cross First Aid and CPR or equivalent.
