Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Oversee implementation and management of the organizations infrastructure systems, network and storage to ensure high levels of data integrity and availability. Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent provisioning and uptime.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with Architects to establish infrastructure systems that seamlessly support the business operations of the company, as well as the continued functioning of the Information Technology group.
- Assist Architects with identifying key issues and limitations of the existing architecture and develop long term target architectures and plans.
- Partner with Architects to identify opportunities to standardize enterprise systems, and develop a strategy to implement necessary changes.
- Collaborate with Architects to develop strategies that include high availability, reliability, and accessibility for the organization.
- Adhere to a version control process which includes the documentation, approval and implementation of system changes.
- Maintain documentation for assigned enterprise systems with a primary focus on the administration of that system.
- Provide Tier IV support for complex issues that arise during the day to day operations of the company.
- Specialize in the best practice operations, and support of enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot in area of expertise to isolate, diagnose and implement corrective actions for problems and issues as required. Solve complex problems with many variables.
- Serve as an escalation point for any complex issues for the system administration group.
- Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines with Infrastructure Project Manager, for various infrastructure projects.
- Troubleshoots, supports, and maintains critical business systems.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Attends classes, seminars, conferences, and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to Infrastructure systems.
- Independently engineers enterprise data, WI-FI and video networks.
- Attends classes, seminars, conferences, and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to Infrastructure systems.
- Automates and streamlines the software development life cycle, from coding and testing to deployment and monitoring.
- Assists with improving the collaboration, communication, and efficiency between development and infrastructure operations teams.
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains software applications using various programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Works on different types of software, such as web, mobile, desktop, embedded, or cloud-based applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 5 years’ experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years’ experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience supporting engineering, and building information technology solutions for the infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in area of expertise.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Excellent understanding of Windows systems including Active Directory Services and System Center.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server running in a VMWare virtualized environment.
- Background in supporting Highly Available systems (clustering, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of IP Networking as it relates to Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- Certifications from Cisco or Microsoft.
- Understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) and integrations
