Job Description
While this is a remote position, we would like to have candidates close to the Olathe, KS office.
The Terraconinternship will support our Data and AI Governance and Data Quality groups.In this program,you will take part in an exciting, fun, and meaningful work experience as you work alongside some of the brightest minds and one of the best Governance Platforms in industry. You will not only learn and advance technically but will also be provided with opportunities for professional development. You will be assigned a leader/mentor in the data governance field. The mentor will help you with career planning along with technical skill development. You will learn how data, AI/ML technology, and governance helps Terracon be a successful engineering company.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in a cohort. The cohort is a way for you to connect with other interns across the company and learn about their experiences. This is also a great way for you to start building your professional network! At the end of the summer, your cohort will present to our executive leadership team.
General Responsibilities:
This position will support the definition of terms in the data governance glossary, you will also work on establishing a revision of the inventory of data sources within Terracon. You will communicate and identify gaps in the inventory and term definitions by assisting with data preparation, inventory review, evaluation, and documentation.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assist in literature reviews, used of Microsoft-Co-Pilot LLM, in researching and defining business data term descriptions.
• Automate the ingestion and defining of Terms using Microsoft Co-Pilot.
• Review and analyze the current data source inventory of Terracon data assets to identify gaps in data ownership, business and technical stewardship.
• Work with a the Terracon Data Governance team to train business and technical stewards on how to document and curate metadata for Terracon’s data assets..
• Provide regular progress updates and actively engage in feedback sessions with the project supervisor.
Requirements:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Governance, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
Salary range:
Undergraduate Junior/Senior - $25 – 30
Master’s - $30-35
