Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, directs and performs all activities relating to the general ledger, financial reporting, treasury, and cash management.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with various levels across the organization to develop and finalize the annual, consolidated budget and forecast
- Support the Operations Development team through detailed analysis of financial information and provide guidance for optimal financial success
- Manage the employee wellbeing budgets and provide training and guidance to individuals within the Company
- Lead key aspects of the year-end audit, including the schedule of activities, collection of documents, and analysis needed to verify audited items requested by the independent audit firm
- Prepare the more complex journal entries required to close the accounting books each period
- Prepare the more complex general ledger account reconciliations required to ensure the financial statements are reflected accurately each period
- Provide support when reporting issues and questions arise.
- Proactively enhance current reports and build new ones as needs present themselves.
- Establish the performance metrics used to consistently report on areas of financial strengths and opportunities.
- Analyze financial trends to highlight areas where revenue or expenses can be improved.
- Manipulate large data sets to perform in-depth analysis and provide insights on projects with significant revenue, expense, or capital impacts
- Assist with various Treasury functions; including forecasting cash flow needs and managing bank funds.
- Identify inefficient Finance/Accounting processes, systems, and/or tools. Build solutions to eliminate or enhance these inefficiencies.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with a minimum of 7 years’ experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 11 years’ related experience.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Expert knowledge of accounting and finance principles (GAAP) and calculations. Working experience with database tools and manipulation/analysis software.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including proficiency with pivot tables, vlookup and advance formulas
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
