Join our team as a dynamic engineering professional delivering innovative solutions across diverse sectors! In this role, you’ll lead geotechnical investigations, perform advanced engineering analyses, and develop designs and specifications that shape critical infrastructure. From resolving complex construction challenges to preparing detailed reports and proposals, you’ll be the trusted technical advisor for clients and project teams. You’ll mentor junior engineers, drive quality standards, and contribute to business development initiatives. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 5–8 years of experience, PE registration, and a passion for problem-solving in geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
Provide engineering and consulting services for a diverse range of projects and clients. Responsibilities may include performing and/or leading field investigations; conducting engineering analyses, calculations, and technical evaluations; and developing clear recommendations. Design and prepare plans and specifications; perform construction observation and inspection; and write, review, and finalize technical reports.
Review drawings and construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates; track project schedules and budgets; and recommend adjustments as needed. Research and resolve design and construction issues, and review laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports. Apply sound engineering judgment and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Work may support existing or proposed projects across multiple sectors, including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Provide and lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
- Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
- Career level, fully competent engineering professional with responsibility for managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity.
- Independently perform a variety projects or selected segments of larger projects.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Work closely with senior-level project managers to gain additional project management experience for more complex and larger projects.
- Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations and modifications.
- Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
- Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
- Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
- Interact directly with client and project team on developing scope of services, communicating project progress and findings and recommendations.
- Write and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
- Participate in marketing, sales and business development.
- Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff.
- Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Begin documented mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience.
- Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
