Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of an environmental engineering consulting office while driving performance, profitability, and growth. This includes responsibility for profit/loss management, employee supervision, project management, quality control, health and safety, client relationships, and business development.

In addition to leading the Central Arkansas office, this role will serve in a dual capacity providing oversight and strategic direction for regional environmental services, ensuring operational consistency, strong project delivery, and growth across the broader region.

Responsibilities also include oversight of leasehold improvements, office equipment, and effective utilization of personnel. Develop and review contracts and proposals to ensure technical accuracy, financial viability, and appropriate staffing to successfully deliver projects and achieve profitability.

This position is focused on environmental consulting services, including site assessment, regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, and related environmental solutions.

  • Oversee a large office supporting multiple service lines or multiple smaller offices with aggregate booked labor revenues typically exceeding $15 million.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for regional environmental service lines, ensuring alignment in operations, quality standards, and business development initiatives across offices.
  • Partner with regional leadership to drive growth, resource sharing, and operational consistency across environmental teams.
  • Oversee assignment of personnel to technical projects to ensure optimal utilization, with input from technical experts and the Director Regional Operations.
  • Direct execution of office and regional business development efforts, strengthening client relationships and expanding market presence.
  • Oversee preparation of proposals and coordinate with corporate marketing and technical experts as needed.
  • Develop and mentor Department Managers, guiding staffing strategies and leadership development.
  • Develop and execute the annual office business plan while contributing to regional environmental strategy and expansion efforts.
  • Prepare and manage office financial budgets and ensure operations remain within approved targets.
  • Monitor job status reports and coordinate with department managers to ensure performance and delivery.
  • Provide updates to the Director, Regional Operations on office and regional performance, including financials, staffing, and growth initiatives.
  • Support strategic plan execution and drive office and regional growth in alignment with company objectives.
  • Manage project-related risk; ensure contracts are executed prior to work and enforce corporate risk policies.
  • Promote and enforce safety initiatives and hold teams accountable to safety standards.
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement and adherence to best practices across all projects.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruiting, hiring, performance management, compensation, and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years’ practice experience, or 14 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in environmental consulting or multi-disciplinary operations
  • Strong business development and client relationship skills
  • Proven ability to manage P&L and drive financial performance
  • Experience leading teams across multiple service lines or locations preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
