Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Lead and execute client environmental, health, safety and sustainability program management initiatives, acting as the primary client contact, and ensuring project alignment with client goals. This position implements and deploys software projects with guidance from Sr. Staff Scientist and Sr. Sustainability Strategists to design and configure software-as-a-service (SaaS) environmental, health, safety and sustainability software in which Terracon has partnerships (Intelex, EHS Insights). This can include initial software design sessions, data collection and analysis, and developing customized reports and dashboards and user training. Configure with the digital solutions technical team solutions to monitor compliance with environmental regulations, co-develop and implement sustainability strategies, and identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, this position conducts workshops and training sessions to users, and continuously seek innovative solutions to enhance the client’s EHS&S program management. Their role is essential in promoting environmental stewardship and long-term business success for their clients. This role requires at least basic knowledge of federal environmental regulations, general OSHA safety and general knowledge of frameworks and standards (GRI, SASB, GHG Protocol, etc) to accurately calculate ESG metrics.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
  • Participate in pre-task planning.
  • Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Demonstrate quality practices and acumen.
  • Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
  • Proficient scientific professional responsible for understanding environmental, health, safety and regulatory compliance and sustainability standards and frameworks.
  • Primary project manager for assigned projects for project timeline, budget and timely updates directly with client.
  • Can, on occasion, be required to conduct software design sessions and/or in person training
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects per the software design workbook
  • Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals
  • Responsible for performing basic to intermediate system/software changes to various modules
  • Suggests best practice configuration of software modules, typical reports and dashboards to ensure compliance and robust reporting capabilities for client use.
  • Works under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years’ related experience.Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, SQL desired but not required
  • Strong organization and project manager skills
  • Familiarity with general environmental federal regulations, safety regulations and basic Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculations
  • Desire to learn the basic technical configuration of software solutions offered to clients
