YOU’LL GET TO:
- Design and analyze using hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modelling
- Model flooding, infiltration, and runoff
- Quantify stormwater pollutant removal
- Design green and gray stormwater management
- Plan for shoreline and coastal resilience
- Design stream restorations
- Design dam projects and perform safety inspections
- Analyze scour and sediment transport
- Investigate water resources
- Process wetland and waterway permits
- Assess and restore watersheds
- Author summary reports and presentations
- Design AMD remediation
- Assist with grant applications and management
YOU TELL US…What water resource concern do you want to solve?
SKILLS WE WANT:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related degree.
- Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and ability to obtain a registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Will also considered certified allied professional with stormwater and/or stream design experience.
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and other relevant certificates are valued.
- Experience in any or all of the following: H&H modeling, floodplain analysis, shoreline/coastal resilience, dam design, scour analysis, riverine hydraulic analysis, hydrologic modeling and calculations, CLOMR, LOMR, stormwater management design, stream restoration, and the permitting and approval process.
- Competence in HEC-RAS 1D, HEC-RAS 2D, SRH2D SMS, HydroCAD, SWMM or similar software modeling.
- ArcGIS
- Computer Drafting skills (Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroStation.
- Project management skills in water resource design from concept through construction, including proposals, invoicing, project milestones, and deadlines.
- Experience in preparing and processing PennDOT designs is a plus.
- Competence in client relationship and meeting facilitation.
- Proficiency in use of software for reports, presentations, and routine office administrative tasks.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel and work as needed to meet schedules.
