YOU’LL GET TO:
- Promote benefits of clean water through pollution prevention.
- Map stormwater networks (GIS database).
- Manage and inspect stormwater control measures and outfalls (locations where concentrated stormwater enters watercourses).
- Model existing and anticipated pollutant loads and water quality management facilities.
- Facilitate meetings and trainings.
- Create programs, policies, and procedures supporting stormwater pollution prevention.
- Design and oversee construction of pollutant-reducing projects.
- Assist with applications and management of grants and other auxiliary funding sources supporting MS4 programs.
- Mentor junior staff and network with clients.
- Assist with other department water resource projects including stream and wetland restoration, green stormwater infrastructure, dams, and similar.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WANT:
- 10+ Years’ Experience
- Professional License required, Professional Engineer preferred. Will consider Landscape Architect or other qualified certification.
- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program permitting
- Local, State (PA DEP, MDE, etc.), and Federal (EPA, FEMA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) land planning regulations and permitting
- Stormwater management design and modeling for volume control and water quality (pollutant reduction)
- Site grading, erosion and sediment pollution control plans
- Technical writing including specifications, standard operating procedures, and/or ordinances development
- Compliance inspections
- Project management skills for achieving milestones and deadlines
- Proficiency in client relationships and meeting facilitation
- Proficiency in use of software for drafting, presentation, and routine office administrative tasks
- Grant writing is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
- Willing and able to perform occasional travel and overtime
