YOU’LL GET TO:
Prepare Soil Erosion and Sediment (E&S) Pollution Control plans
Assemble NPDES and Wetland and Waterway Permit applications
Provide floodplain and watershed modeling and management services
Prepare wetland mitigation design plans
Design stormwater management systems
Perform design analyses and calculations
Develop construction specifications and contracts
Prepare proposals and manage projects
Perform construction inspections
Communicate with clients
Perform quality control review of report documents
Participate in marketing and business development
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
● Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
● Provide and lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
● Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
● Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
● Career level, fully competent scientific professional responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of work for part of a major project or total of a project of moderate scope and complexity.
● May serve as a team leader in medium projects and mentor junior level scientists/engineers.
● Performs scientific analyses on projects of own discipline.
● May attend on and off-site client meetings.
● Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
● Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field.
● Minimum 7 years’ related experience.
● Certification in field of expertise.
● Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
● 11+ years’ experience in natural resources design.
● Master’s degree preferred.
● Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) certification.
● Proficiency in technical writing, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, and relevant computer software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Carlson, BIM Modeling).
● Familiarity with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission design procedures.
● Federal agency civil design and permitting.
● MS4 permitting and Green Stormwater Infrastructure design experience.
● GPS field survey or drone (UAV) experience.
● Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control and NPDES Permit experience.
● Soil profiling and infiltration testing experience.
● Project Management experience.
