Provide architectural and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and or leading field investigations, architectural/engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals for services, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Apply sound architectural/engineering principles and be able to communicate complex issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in a variety of sectors, including for example commercial, retail, multi-family, hotel, senior living, industrial, government, healthcare, education and institutional.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
- Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
- Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.
- Senior level architectural professional provides technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
- Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the architectural/engineering work on a project of moderate scope.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate architectural/engineering work involving conventional architectural/engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
- Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervises the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients; provides technical review of reports.
- Lead technical training and makes informed decisions based upon state of the art technological issues.
- Provide leadership of marketing, sales and business development.
- May supervise less experienced engineers/architects or technical support personnel on projects.
- Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
The Senior Project Architect is responsible for leading and executing complex architectural projects with an emphasis on existing buildings. This role involves technical leadership, project delivery oversight, and direct client engagement, with a strong focus on building envelope remediation, roofing systems, due diligence evaluations, and accessibility compliance. The Senior Project Architect serves as a technical authority and mentor, ensuring design quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance across all phases of work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent degree (and experience) that can be applied to becoming a Registered Architect.
- Minimum 8-11 years’ experience.
- Master’s degree in Architecture preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Registered Architect
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
Preferred Certification:
- Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), REWC (Registered Exterior Wall Consultant), RBEC (Registered Building Enclosure Consultant), LEED AP, or other industry relevant certification.
