Terracon is hiring multiple Construction Materials Technicians in Dubuque, IA!

As a Construction Materials Technician, you'll perform field and laboratory testing on soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and reinforcing steel to help ensure the quality and safety of construction projects. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, receive paid training, and earn industry-recognized certifications as you grow within the role.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Perform testing and inspections of construction materials on project sites and in the laboratory
  • Record and report test results using a tablet or laptop
  • Communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and clients
  • Transport materials safely between project sites and the laboratory
  • Maintain testing equipment and follow quality standards
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs
  • Follow Terracon's industry-leading safety practices
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites
  • Willingness to obtain industry certifications and learn new skills

Preferred

  • Current construction materials testing certifications
  • Ability to obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months
