We have an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to lead local and regional compliance efforts in the Iowa Market while also assisting with projects across the country. This position can be based out of any of Terracon’s offices in Iowa (Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Quad Cities).
To be successful in this role you will need a strong technical background and relationship-building skills. You will manage projects, maintain existing and develop new client relationships. You will assess client needs, prepare reports, and develop and implement strategies to help clients achieve environmental compliance. You will also help lead local and regional environmental compliance marketing efforts.

The Candidate should have experience and regulatory knowledge in all or some of the service areas listed below:
• Air permitting
• Stormwater / SWPPP
• RCRA/Hazardous waste
• Compliance auditing
• Oil Storage/SPCC plans
• SARA Title III (Tier II/TRI) reporting
• Industrial wastewater
• Sustainability
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Grow and expand existing environmental compliance services with new and existing clients throughout the Iowa and Nebraska markets, and beyond!
- Prepare calculations, permit applications, plans, reports, proposals.
- Develop schedules, budgets and forecasts
;coordinating with project staff and subcontractors. - Serve clients by understanding and exceeding their expectations to retain andfurther develop EHS opportunities.
- Work closely with clients to understand specific processes and develop strategy for regulatory compliance while maintaining maximum operational flexibility.
- Assess/audit regulatory compliance across all EHS applications.
- Design and implement EHS management systems and programs for clients.
- Provide on-site EHS compliance support at client facilities.
- Lead project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of EHS compliance projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Support other team members in proper planning and execution of EHS projects and provide technical reviews of deliverables. Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
- Lead safety efforts and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Begin documented mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-Hr refresher
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed
- Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.
