We’re seeking a seasoned Environmental Engineer to lead complex projects and deliver innovative solutions. In this role, you’ll manage site investigations, remediation strategies, and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior staff and driving quality and safety standards. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience, a PE license, and expertise in environmental regulations and remediation programs. Candidates with a background in Geology are encouraged to apply. This role can be based out of our Downtown Chicago or Glendale Heights office.
- Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.
- Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
- Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Senior level environmental engineering professional responsible for leading complex or unique projects requiring innovative investigation techniques.
- Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports.
- Assist in establishing and updating current policies/ procedures for technical projects in field of expertise, to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff.
- Provide technical direction and training to less experience professional staff.
- Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.
- Serves as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geosciences, Geology, or related degree.
- Minimum 8-11 years’ experience.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering preferred.
- Experience with Clean Construction or Demolition Debris (CCDD) projects preferred.
- Experience successfully directing / completing investigation, remediation oversight, and reporting for projects in the IEPA Site Remediation Program and Leaking Underground Storage Tank Program
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration required.

Minimum Salary: 102200
