Work under the supervision of senior staff to perform detail orientated laboratory tasks and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Work in a team environment to complete daily tasks related to construction and geotechnical materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
- Under supervision of higher level laboratory staff, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing duties.
- Prepare samples and maintain proper labeling and documentation
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
- Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness
- Communicates information to Laboratory Manager/Supervisor and other personnel as directed.
- Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Valid Asphalt Plant Level 1 Quality Control (QC) and/or QMS Roadway Technician certifications
- Experience with testing for AC. content by ignition, gyratory density, theoretical density, extraction/gradation, and bulk densities.
