Terracon’s Cedar Rapids, Iowa office is seeking an environmental professional to join our team as an Environmental Project Manager! This position is for an experienced professional to assist in the planning, scheduling and execution of environmental projects varying in size and complexity. As the Project Manager, you will work in the office and in the field to oversee monitoring and testing of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and storm water, generate communications summarizing work efforts; evaluate and interpret field and sampling data; develop conclusions, and prepare reports. You will work on both public and private client projects. It’s an expanding department with a lot of momentum and a high functioning team. Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare scopes of work for site investigations to assess soil, groundwater, soil vapor, storm water, and indoor air from a hydrogeological, geological, or environmental perspective. May assist more senior level project managers on large, more complex projects.
  • Develop, plan, schedule, and implement technical scopes of work related to environmental site assessments, risk based corrective actions, and remediation designs/implementation with minimal oversight.
  • Manage all aspects of projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Communicate with clients and project team regarding project milestones, logistics, and status of the project.
  • Work with senior project managers to identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team on your projects to promote Terracon’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture, ensuring everyone works safely. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality and improvement on projects and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology with five years’ related experience or more.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAWOPER
Preferred:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed.
