This role is responsible for coordinating, writing, editing, designing, and producing proposals, qualifications packages (SOQs), and other client-facing pursuit documents in partnership with project managers, engineers, and business development professionals.

This is an on-site position based in Terracon's Austin office, requiring regular collaboration with project managers, engineers, business development professionals, and corporate marketing resources.

This position is ideal for a marketing professional looking to build expertise in pursuit marketing within the engineering, architecture, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Success in this role requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Experience supporting proposals, SOQs, RFQs, or other competitive pursuit documents is strongly preferred, along with working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.

At Terracon, marketing professionals are valued members of the pursuit team and have the opportunity to work closely with technical experts, business development professionals, and company leadership. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting meaningful projects, developing proposal expertise, and contributing to pursuits that help shape communities across Texas and beyond.

In addition to proposal development, this role will help maintain our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system by tracking and analyzing pursuit data and supporting business development efforts through accurate pursuit reporting and information management. The position may also assist with marketing initiatives and business development events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support proposal preparation by coordinating schedules, milestones, reviews, and deliverables to help ensure high-quality submissions are completed on time.
  • Coordinate and support proposal kickoff meetings with project managers, principals, and other pursuit team members to help establish proposal requirements, schedules, and action items.
  • Research, write, edit, and format proposal materials, including project descriptions, firm qualifications, and other pursuit-related content.
  • Develop, edit, and customize professional staff resumes and project profiles for proposals, qualifications packages, and other client-facing documents.
  • Ensure proposal content, staff qualifications, project experience, and supporting materials are accurate, compliant, and consistent.
  • Manage proposal schedules, deliverable requirements, and review cycles to support the timely submission of high-quality proposals and qualifications packages.
  • Input pursuit data into CRM, generate reports, and serve as a resource to CRM users.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, internal communications, and business development events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning and report safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects and assignments.
Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or coordinating proposals, qualifications packages (SOQs), RFQs, or other competitive pursuit documents strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the engineering, architecture, construction (A/E/C), or other professional services industries.
  • Experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field and 2 years of marketing and communications experience. Alternatively, in lieu of a degree, 6 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate concurrent pursuits.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
