Geotechnical Engineering Technician - Entry Level

Description: 

• Serve as the Terracon representative on drilling projects, providing direction to subcontracted drilling crews, communicating professionally with site contacts, identifying utility markings, classifying soils when appropriate, and managing changing site conditions. 
• Assist with pile load testing and other types of data collection related to soil conditions and strength. You’ll receive comprehensive, hands-on training from an experienced Lead Technician, with the goal of developing your skills and advancing into a Lead Pile Load Testing Technician role.

• Document daily field activities, observations, testing results, and project progress accurately and thoroughly.
• Strong communication with the Project Manager is essential to ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project requirements.
• Perform laboratory testing, safely transport soil samples between the Milwaukee and Chicago offices, and maintain clean, organized, and well-maintained equipment and vehicles to support efficient field operations.
• Take on progressively greater levels of training, responsibility, and independence as you develop your skills and experience in the field.
• Follow all safety rules, practices, and project-specific requirements. Complete thorough pre-task planning before beginning work to identify potential hazards and ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
