General Responsibilities:
The Assistant Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects. They will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance tasks on active sites, ensuring compliance with specifications. Additionally, they will provide support to the Construction Management team, overseeing the progress of projects, managing documentation, and maintaining open lines of communication with clients.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform Quality Assurance on construction sites, reviewing drawings and specifications.
- Assist in Construction Management projects, tracking progress and coordinating with contractors.
- Oversee contractor safety and host daily safety meetings, ensuring a secure work environment.
- Document construction progress and maintain accurate records as per project requirements.
- Review and process RFIs and submittals, ensuring a smooth flow of information.
- Conduct frequent site visits to monitor construction activities and provide updates to clients.
- Review and approve pay applications, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain effective client communication, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns.
- Work at heights using a safety harness and utilize ladders for site access as needed.
- Travel to construction sites, with an estimated travel percentage of 60-90%.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in reading construction drawings and specifications is essential.
- Strong technical writing skills for clear and concise documentation.
- Excellent client communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work at heights and utilize safety equipment, including a safety harness.
- Experience in construction or a related field, with a focus on Quality Assurance.
- Familiarity with construction management processes and project tracking.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and a commitment to safety are key.
