Job Description
Our Eastern Midwest Region Facilities department is hiring an experienced professional to do Property Condition Assessments and Facility Condition Assessments. This is a REMOTE position, but candidate must live in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, or Michigan. Daily interaction with team is expected. Some overnight travel is required in this position.
General Responsibilities:
Diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from property condition assessments to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials. Assessment techniques include, visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations. Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Senior Consulting level Facilities professional who acts as a resource and specialist in the application of advanced theories, concepts and principles for the Facilities organization.
- Provide leadership, direction and promote a state-of-the art approach for facility assessment.
- Capable of analyzing all technical aspects of subject area, defining scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending major design changes.
- Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating Facility assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect projects.
- Plan, organize and supervise Facility activities for major projects of large scale and complexity.
- Provides consultation on quality issues.
- Act as expert witness on behalf of company to clients or representing company in litigation or court proceedings.
- Identifies potential clients in need of consulting expertise and sells the services of the company to those clients.
- Leads the development of marketing strategies and formal presentations of qualifications to clients on various projects in area of expertise.
- Publish technical articles, present technical papers and training seminars to technical groups to promote the professional image and reputation of the company.
- Known in the industry as an expert in one or more relevant practice areas.
- Maintain leadership level influence with appropriate technical committees and societies. Actively participate in professional organizations.
- Communicates safety initiatives, rules and guidelines for Office or Region. Holds Managers and Employees accountable for following safety rules and guidelines.
- Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Ensure best practices are being followed and hold Managers accountable for quality control standards.
- Manage risk related to projects. Ensure contracts are signed and fully executed prior to commencing work. Monitor adherence to corporate risk policies and practices. Hold Managers accountable for mitigating or eliminating risk.
- Bachelor’s degree in building science or related building field and 20 years’ experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 24 years’ related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Quire experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Ability to obtain Authorized Project Reviewer status by Terracon within one year.
- Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), and at least one other relevant certification (RBEC, BECxP, LEED AP) or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Master’s degree.
The national standard salary range for this position is $115300-$178700. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
