Job Description

General Responsibilities:
Terracon is currently seeking an Environmental Summer Intern to conduct fieldwork, collect data, and assist with report writing. You may assist with Waters of the United States (WOTUS) Delineations, Permitting and Mitigation; National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Assessments, threatened and endangered species (T&E) related services, Section 106 of the NHPA Phase I, II, and III Cultural Resources Investigations, Laboratory Artifact Analysis, Technical Reporting Opportunities, Archaeological Site Forms, and Equipment Maintenance.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Performs sampling or testing as directed.
  • Assist with site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • May assist other field personnel or scientists/engineers on more complex projects.
  • May assist with field data entry and report writing.
  • Transports equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set up.
  • Cleans/preps equipment, vehicles and work areas.
  • Assists other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.
  • Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.



Requirements:

  • High school diploma and BS degree in progress in a science, history, anthropology or related field (environmental, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, geology). The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree.
