Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Terracon’s Shreveport, LA office is seeking the next office leader to continue the successful trajectory of the office. The successful candidate will lead and direct all activities (administrative and technical) of an engineering consulting office. This includes leadership of department and group leaders, staff health and safety oversight, financial responsibilities, staff supervision and development, senior-level project management, internal quality control, risk management, and client relations and business development.

The Shreveport office has experienced 15% YPY Growth with a strong backlog going into 2025. Primary services include Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Environmental Consulting. We currently above a local staff of 15 employees with other support staff from the surrounding offices.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to projects via technical expertise, project management skills, etc.
  • Review contracts and proposals prepared by office personnel.
  • Evaluate and monitor workloads in the office personally and via supervisors and oversee employee supervision and development.
  • Coordinate with client development and marketing staff to maintain client contacts and relationships.
  • Supervise preparation of large proposals’ proposal leader and coordinate with corporate marketing and technical experts including go no-go evaluations.
  • Oversee and contribute to the execution of the office’s business development efforts.
  • Monitor service line key project indices (KPI) on office and department financials and labor metrics.
  • Meet regularly with your supervisor to update on status of office safety metrics, KPIs, financials, staffing, backlog, etc.
  • Oversee risk management of projects and clients.
  • Possess a growth mindset with aspirations of being “best at people” and leading innovation and industry.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • 10 or more years’ practice experience. Or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
  • Prior management experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred
