Terracon Consultants, a nationwide engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Occupational/Industrial Hygienist to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position would be part of a very skilled team that performs airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality surveys, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, safety audits, and other activities. Role Overview: The Senior Occupational/Industrial Hygienist will perform complex occupational health and industrial hygiene tasks, including developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing regulations, policies, and programs to identify, evaluate, control, and prevent workplace hazards. This role also serves as a project manager and technical advisor on occupational health and safety.

Job Description:
This position will be primarily based in Raleigh, NC, and support projects throughout North Carolina and the Southeast, as needed.

Knowledge of asbestos inspections, asbestos management planning, operations and maintenance plans development, abatement oversight, air monitoring, employee exposure assessments, noise assessments and hearing conservation, ventilation, mold assessments and remediation plan development, and indoor environmental quality investigations are required.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Implement and Administer Programs: Under minimal supervision, manage project industrial hygiene programs to ensure employee and public safety and occupational health for our clients.
• Technical Work: Perform moderately complex technical tasks across various industrial hygiene disciplines to comply with EH&S standards and federal/state regulations. Apply advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of industrial hygiene.
• Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain industrial hygiene programs, systems, and procedures.
• Process Improvement: Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
• Employee Training: Develop and conduct training programs for employees.
• Regulatory Advice: Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Safety, Environmental Science, or related Science field.
• Certification as an Industrial Hygienist or able to obtain certification within 1-2 years preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
