Job Description
Terracon is seeking to hire a part-time Assistant Project Manager for Environmental Services to support our Nebraska operations. We work on exciting projects, including commercial, transportation, telecommunications, energy, and federal projects throughout the Midwest. This position is for an experienced professional who will be responsible for assisting in the planning, scheduling, and execution of various environmental projects varying in size and complexity. The successful candidate will be eager to learn and grow into all phases of environmental consultation.
General Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Project Manager Assistant with Terracon you will perform duties related to conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects in multiple states, prepare proposals and reports, data collection and take part in other environmental consulting projects as assigned.Elements for success include ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and also coordinating effectively with clients, agencies and stakeholders. In this role, you will coordinate with project managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Approved Project Reviewers (APRs) to deliver multidisciplinary work products for clients.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with assistance and guidance from the Project Manager.
- Interact with clients and stakeholders to deliver projects aligned with their goals.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
- Coordinate with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Approved Project Reviewer (APR) to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time allowed for quality reviews of all critical junctures.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices.
- Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Assists in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, field tests and aerial photographs for completion of projects.
- Applies standard practices and techniques and familiar with various environmental regulations and guidelines as they relate to projects assigned.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by more senior level professional staff or the Department, Office and/or Regional Manager.
