Revenue generation for the sector is mostly locally driven through regional relationships from our 180 offices. Two subsectors, Financial, Legal and Investment and Multifamily, have national leadership who provide strategy, national and regional relationships and dedicated staff for growth. The chosen sector director will oversee these teams as well as identify and launch additional subsector focused efforts to expand this national strategy and accountability.

They are experienced in client development and client management; the ability to develop and execute on strategic plans; the ability to build strong working relationships with Terracon operational offices; and are a strong collaborator with other sector directors, service line directors and operational and company leadership. They are experienced in influencing broadly without having a direct line of authority. They are a life-long learner, independent, self-motivated, and self-directed while benefiting from and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Reponsible for overall direction and success of the Commercial Sector focused on safe, profitable growth.

  • Lead national business development efforts, consistent with the company’s strategic plan.
  • Oversee development of new national accounts, as well as existing, through expansion by geography, service line and subsector. Drive key client relationships through select growth plans.
  • Provide planning recommendations for Terracon’s 9 operational divisions, through a collaborative partnership with service line leaders and operational representatives.
  • Provide an annual sector business plan including predicted growth, geographic focus, collaborative goals, and client-specific growth goals.
  • Develop and oversee annual sector budget.
  • Develop all strategy with short- and long-term goals top of mind. Put all in the context of a long-range vision for the sector that aligns with the company strategic plan.
  • Work with senior leadership, seeking their feedback and input for most effective and efficient use of company resources.
  • Continue to drive the sales of Terracon’s innovation products including Pivvot, Stage1, Pave AI, Compass and others to enhance client experience and differentiate Terracon in the market.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Services in Accounting, Marketing, Communications, Legal as necessary to lead the sector.
  • Support the National Director of Business Sectors, the Director of the National Account Program, and the Senior Vice President of Client Development as a contributing member of the Growth team.
  • Is adept at identifying, understanding and mitigating risk, ideally in an employee-owned company.
  • Employ a continuous safety mindset, actively searching for ways to influence getting us all home safely every day.

Requirements:
