Job Description
General Responsibilities:
As an Architectural Historian with Terracon, you will be responsible for conducting architectural field evaluations; consulting with state and federal agencies, tribal groups, and other stakeholders; performing National Register evaluations for standing structures; completing site forms; preparing reports; assisting with archaeological investigations; and other duties, as necessary. This position may also require assistance with preparing NEPA and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and other environmental consulting projects as assigned. Must be able to work in physically demanding field conditions. Frequent overnight travel will be required.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Perform architectural surveys.
- Make National Register recommendations.
- Preparing historic contexts for cultural resource reports.
- May assist more senior level staff on larger, more complex projects.
- May oversee work performed by lower level staff
- In accordance with company procedures, approves or prepares reports for relatively complex projects, making appropriate recommendations as necessary on projects.
- Minimum three months of experience in the eastern U.S.
- Have a master’s degree or above in architectural history or historic preservation.
