Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Work directly under Licensed Professional Geologists in Terracon’s Northeast Exploration Services office. Assist with planning and executing geotechnical and environmental drilling projects throughout New England. Scope project sites for drill rig access and general conditions. Assist with developing proposals and bids. Provide field services including logging boreholes to record data on subsurface conditions encountered, classifying soil and rock samples for engineering purposes, and site features. Assist with preparation of geotechnical data reports, data tables, and final boring logs describing exploration methods, site geology, and other relevant information.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Assists in the planning, scoping, and permitting of drilling projects using existing data from site visits, maps, reports, drawings, tests and aerial photographs.
  • Assist with tracking projects from start to completion.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Developing toward Professional Geologist/ Hydrogeologist licensure and assist with project management responsibilities. Assignments are designed to develop knowledge and abilities.
  • Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test, and collect data and/or document site activities.
  • Outlines required investigative program(s) To assist in selecting the proper alternative techniques to conduct site studies in field of expertise.
  • May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Certification:
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour
  • OSHA 10 Hour
