Manager Regional Environmental Services
Terracon is seeking a Manager of Regional Services to lead and grow our Environmental practice in the Kansas/Missouri region, which includes departments operating in Lenexa, Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita, and Garden City, Kansas and St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri. This position offers an opportunity for an individual who is strong in client and business development, leadership and management, team building and mentoring, operations efficiency, and strategic planning and implementation.
This position will work closely with Environmental Department Managers, Office Managers, the Regional Manager, and Environmental Service Line leadership to strategically expand and elevate the service line in the region.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with offices and environmental departments in the region to drive client and business development, including maximizing opportunities with existing clients and pursuing/securing opportunities with new clients.
- Collaborate with offices and environmental departments in the region to recruit talent to grow the practice, including identifying and landing strategic hires as well as improving current practices for recruiting and career development.
- Lead strategic and business planning efforts along with environmental leadership in region to elevate and grow the practice.
- Partner with Office Managers, the Regional Manager, and Environmental Service Line leadership in developing and implementing strategic and business operations plans.
- Evaluate under-performing markets/practices and collaborate with leadership in region on strategies and practices for improvement and optimization.
- Participate in, and contribute to, company strategic initiaves to connect with senior leaders from across the firm and grow and elevate the practice in an aligned fashion with Terracon’s strategic plan.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and technical expertise for areas of specialty, including supporting Terracon’s quality program by becoming an authorized project reviewer.
- Serve as a resource for, and mentor to, environmental leadership and staff in the region.
- Provide professional support on projects as needed.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects, including participating in pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects and ensuring project team members and operations are maintaining such standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the firm, including but not limited to engineering, environmental science, geology or industrial hygiene, and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Professional licensure or certification in field(s) of expertise.
