Job Description
General Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental planning services for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents. Experience with environmental planning should include preparation of environmental and NEPA documents. Direct experience performing services such as ecological surveys, cultural resource surveys, wetland delineations, air quality evaluations, and noise screening is preferred. Familiarity with navigating associated environmental regulations such as Clean Water Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), Clean Air Act (CAA), as well as state and local regulations is preferred.


Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Provide and lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
  • Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
  • Career level, fully competent environmental professional responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of work for part of a major project or total of a project of moderate scope and complexity.
  • May serve as a team leader in medium projects and mentor junior level scientists/engineers.
  • Performs environmental analyses on projects of own discipline.
  • May attend on and off-site client meetings.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
  • Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
  • Works under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and 5 to 7 years of related work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in field of expertise preferred.
