General Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental field work, site investigations, assessments, and surveys related to environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Manage and participate in a variety of regulatory compliance projects regulated under the CWA, CAA, RCRA, and other environmental statutes. Actively participate in stormwater sampling, field inspections, and special studies focused on water resources (water, wastewater, and stormwater quality). Conduct research and prepare applicable permit applications and technical documents including proposals, reports, SPCC plans, Industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s), Construction SWP3s, Tier II and TRI reports. Projects will include both field work, and report writing in addition to clear communication.

This is a developing level scientific professional designed to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities with increased responsibility in project management (scope, schedule, and budget) of assigned projects.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects and successfully execute and/or manage assigned projects to completion.
  • Responsible for completing project assignments independently as well as participating on a team.
  • Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data from stormwater sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and execute projects.
  • Conduct water, stormwater, soil, and other sampling.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by participating and coordinating with the team.
  • Drafts written proposals to clients for small projects and may assist with portions of proposals on larger projects.
  • Requires client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related science field and 1-3 years related experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
- Certification in field of expertise a plus.
