Job Description

General Responsibilities:
This position will receive an introduction into the geotechnical industry and have an opportunity to experience field, lab and office work with the geotechnical department and cross train with our materials testing department. Internships run from May to August.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Terracon's intern program provides planned learning activities over the summer, mentorship with professionals in your office, and participation in cohorts with other interns across the region.
• Provides assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel
• Learn and advance technically while also being provided with opportunities for professional development.
• Develops a presentation at the end of the summer to present to the executive leadership team about what you learned during your time in the intern program.
• Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Understand soil test procedures (ASTM, DOT, COE, etc.)
• Shadow field exploration and materials testing teams
• Learn the basics of project management
• Understand quality management system and procedures​​​​

Requirements:
High school diploma and BS degree in progress in an engineering, science or related field (engineering or geological sciences). The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS or MS degree.
