Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our growing in-house creative team. As a lead presentation and proposal designer, you'll work with subject matter experts, speakers, and proposal managers to develop compelling visual narratives, bringing the Terracon story to life for events, project interviews, and as part of proposals and pursuits. This is a role for a creative thinker that can design for communications pieces to represent Terracon’s executives, national teams, and local offices.

This position will support strategic initiatives, contribute as part of key proposal and presentation development teams, and assist in training and skill development of local and regional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating employee-owner (internal) and client-focused (external) experiences across multiple platforms, including: tradeshows, presentations, webinars, layouts and graphics for proposals, qualification packages, interviews, print collateral, web, mobile, social media, and email campaigns.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong ability to create story-board messaging, manage projects, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, as well as the ability to collaborate cross- functionally and with a variety of stakeholders and execute multiple projects with shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Design Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the firm, making sure that all communications pieces are in line with the style guide.
  • Design for company meetings, proposal and pursuits and presentations, and support key speaking engagements for executive teams across a variety of topics, content, and audiences.
  • Demonstrate exceptional design abilities and art direction talent within PowerPoint.
  • Lead creative development of campaigns or special projects including:
    • Presentations for external comms, pursuit strategy graphic support
    • Ability to train and support marketing and business development staff
    • Presentation development, development, lead, and teach with our marketing business development professionals
  • Establish and maintain presentation design templates and guidelines for use across the company
  • Create visually stunning presentations by customizing new business proposals, final deliverables, and other materials (infographics, posters, etc.) from account teams
  • Create and design various marketing communication materials across various media (print, digital, and video)
  • Coordinate activities of external design and vendor partnerships
  • Create graphics for videos and does some video editing.

Skills
  • A track record and affinity for working/coaching directly with leadership, and project leads to synthesize messaging into inspired stories
  • A storyteller with a knack for designing compelling visuals, iconography, typography, photography, motion graphics, and infographics within the Terracon brand standards.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and have a working familiarity with motion design, sound, and video.
    • After Effects and sound editing experience is highly appreciated, but not required
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure while maintaining speed and high attention to detail given shifting timelines, updates, and last-minute slide changes.
  • Receptive to redirection and design feedback

Presentation and Proposal/Marketing Project Support (80%):
  • Lead strategic proposals and interviews from a graphics standpoint.
  • Work in Microsoft Suite in an array of tasks (i.e., edit PowerPoint presentations, create charts using Excel, create publications in Word, etc)
  • Work in Adobe Creative Suite in a variety of tasks
  • Training marketing professionals at Terracon on presentation creation
  • Transform written proposal content into persuasive graphics such as:
    • Proposal covers and graphics
      • Infographics
      • Templates
      • Proposal layout
      • Covers
      • Tabs
    • Presentations/webinar graphics
    • Packaging
    • Posters and event materials
    • Tradeshow booth graphics
    • Animation and video development for proposal efforts
  • Coordinate and provide support for external meetings and events, such as conferences and special events.
  • Lead marketing proposal materials asset management
    • Assists in maintaining a digital asset library, including project photography and video
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their strategies and provide relevant graphical support to design deliverables

Internal and External Communications Team Support (20%)
  • Develops and updates digital content including:
    • Presentation development and support
    • Website graphics
    • Create emails using email vendor platform, Click Dimensions
    • Create visuals for social media and online advertising campaigns
    • Animation and Videography: Producing videos, including the selection of clips, building animations and transitions, and sourcing narration and background audio, resulting in professional-quality videos

Safety and Quality
  • Follows safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field and a minimum of five years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere, and Microsoft Office.
  • Print knowledge
  • Experience in Keynote and Prezi, are all a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and have a working familiarity with motion design, sound, and video
  • After Effects and sound editing experience is highly appreciated, but not required
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Additional qualifications:
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities and deadlines with calm composure
  • Able to continually reprioritize and adjust focus on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Able to work independently and or as a valuable member of the team.
  • Able to take direction, lead direction, and translate ideas and concepts to meet project objectives.
  • Participate in department processes and organization.
  • A/E/C or B2B Design experience preferred
  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) from Society for Marketing Professional Services (or equivalent) preferred
