Our Total Rewards organization is seeking a Manager, Benefits, and Wellbeing who would like to partner to take benefits to the next level. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of benefits programs and practices, who is excited about the future – moving from manual processes to automation, and focused on improving the employee experience. To support your work/life balance, this is a hybrid opportunity with the ability to work from home four days per week. Human Resources gets together in-office each Tuesday to make connections and collaborate.

General Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the planning, implementation, and administration of the company’s various health and welfare programs. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, IRS and other legislative rules that impact health and welfare matters.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the administration of various health and welfare programs; assess effectiveness of programs in meeting overall company strategic objectives and oversee the implementation of changes and improvements to benefits programs, as appropriate.
  • Manage, mentor and encourage the ongoing development of the Benefits team.
  • Manage the vendor relationships to ensure that programs, practices and policies are in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage the development and implementation of benefits proposals with insurance carriers and benefit brokers, and administration of contracts involving employee benefits.
  • Develop, update and/or present various companywide benefits communications (such as letters, materials for meetings, summary plan descriptions, benefit statements, etc.).
  • Create/update and monitor all documents necessary for the implementation of various benefits programs as required for compliance with ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records and compilation of benefits’ plan data. Prepares and submits reports required by law to be filed with government agencies (such as ACA filings, 5500 filings, etc.).
  • Handles annual audits for benefit plans; direct responsibility for annual open enrollment.
  • Direct the LOA and FMLA absence management programs. Provide solutions to difficult situations and consults with HR Business Partners. Work directly with Managers and employees as necessary.
  • Support merger and acquisition due diligence and integration initiatives.
  • Develop an understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure the team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and 10 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
  • Advanced level excel and word experience including experience with mail merge, tables, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
  • Professional Human Resources or Senior Professional Human Resources (PHR or SPHR)
  • SHRM Certified Professional or Senior Professional (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)

  • Implementing a stand-by leave program to ensure our employees continue service and health insurance benefits during regional work shortages
