Terracon’s Houston office is seeking a Facility Assessment Management Lead! You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of buildings and locations utilizing your knowledge of construction, field assessment, and reporting tools for efficient project delivery and quality to our large client base.

You will work with a well-established team in the SE Texas Region to grow the PCA and FCA practice areas including staffing and business development plans. Our team has historically seen consistent and sustained growth in revenue and our client base with our FCA practice experiencing tremendous growth nationally during the previous 5-years exceeding 30-40% each year!

Qualified candidates will have experience with field assessments of all major components and systems of commercial, retail, and industrial buildings and related infrastructure and common delivery methods of PCA and FCA projects including risk assessment, client management, and project financials. Initially, this role will also include the responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager on proposals and PCA and FCA projects as the local team is further develops

General Responsibilities:
  • Senior level facilities professional who acts as a resource and specialist and has direct client responsibility from initial contact through project close out.
  • Perform field work providing Property Condition Assessments and Facility Condition Assessments of a wide range of clients in the SE Texas Region.
  • Engage with and support the Property Condition Assessment and Asset Management practice areas within Terracon at the national level.
  • Supervise or monitor PCAs and FCAs in progress in the Facilities practice to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client’s requirements and within company procedures, standards, quality manuals, and risk management policies.
  • Supervise the preparation of proposals and fee estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability.
  • Supervise the daily operations of a team including staff training, development, and performance, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain client relationships.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparation of proposals and fee estimates.
  • Perform business and client development activities with support from the National Practice Leader and Office Manager.
  • Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding with support from the National Practice Leader and Office Manager.
  • Prepare and execute annual business plan for the PCA and FCA practices with support from the National Practice Leader and Office Manager.
  • Oversee and manage the success of key group metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability with support from the National Practice Leader and Office Manager.
  • Develop understanding and manage project-related risks in accordance Terracon’s Risk Management policies.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure compliance with Terracon safety rules and practices. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment and demonstrate safety practices.
  • Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage Authorized Project Reviewers on all projects at their onset.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline Engineering, Architecture, and Construction Management and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services being provided.
