Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Safely perform laboratory testing of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt). Communicate with supervisor and other lab staff as applicable regarding the project requirements, specifications, data and deadlines.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all tasks. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
- Under supervision of senior level staff members, assist on laboratory tasks and perform tests according to the applicable standards.
- Provide clear documentation of test results.
- Communicate information to supervisor and discuss observations about the material.
- Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Laboratory Manager or direct supervisor.
- Maintaining and calibrating equipment as required.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards at all times.
- Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in laboratory testing assignments.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Obtain ACI Aggregate, Strength or Agg Base certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain additional relevant certifications as requested by your supervisor.
