Job Description
General Responsibilities:

Perform field studies including air monitoring, soil and groundwater investigations, noise surveys, mold/indoor air quality, asbestos/regulated materials surveys, wetlands delineations, and Phase I environmental site assessments. Assist with abatement oversight activities, tank closures, and stormwater sampling. Drafting utilizing AutoCAD, GPS mapping, GIS data management. Develop sampling strategies and outline required analysis. Research regulatory standards and hazard data. Tabulate sampling results and prepare data for written reports. Clean, maintain, and calibrate field equipment. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Capability to drive full-sized pick-up trucks.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • Assists in the collection of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects.
  • Conducts water, soil, asbestos, and industrial hygiene sampling.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects through data collection and documentation of site activities.
  • Outlines required investigative program(s) by selecting the proper alternative techniques to conduct site studies in field of expertise.
  • Assist with project deliverables.
  • Client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred, with focus in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or Industrial Hygiene). Or in lieu of a degree, 4+ years or relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Flexible schedule and overnight travel is periodically required.

The employee is occasionally required to smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Certification:
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER
  • Other national, regional, state, and local environmental related certifications requiring experience and written examination will also be considered if deemed appropriate by the Terracon Department Manager.
